Extension Phone Ringer

I needed a louder telephone ringer, and purchased this item. I tried it when it arrived, but discovered that it was not any louder than the ringer in the phone. Also, there is something rattling inside the item, but it doesn't seem to interfere with the use of it----just shoddy workmanship. I would not recommend it for someone who wants a lound ringer, because this just doesn't do the trick. It would work fine for an added ringer, in a room without a telephone, but that's about it. For the hard of hearing, it's not too good.
