Good idea but some problems

I bought this for my mother who is hard of hearing. There are two ways to boost the volume. There is a well marked rocker switch (like many phones) on the side. Then there is a push button marked boost. The side rocker has up to four bars of sound volume. The problem is that it defaults to the lowest volume and you must raise it each and every telephone call which is a pain for the elderly and they have to remember to do this so they can hear the call. I suppose with constant repetition they might remember it but that is a pain. Also the volume starts out lower than on a regular phone which is amazing. Why would that be so? This phone is for the hearing impaired so why not start with at least the same volume as any regular phone? I had trouble hearing with this phone on its default low setting! Still the phone, when you go to the trouble of pushing the volume side switch, and then push the boost it really does boost well. Also the rest of the phone is nice and visible. I also like the treble boost 1 and 2 settings for people who only need the boost of the upper frequencies. Good idea.

Loud and Clear Calls

Wow. This is absolutly hands down the best cordless telephone I have ever had.I never knew how bad the other "professional" telephones were until I got this one. I work 8 hours a day on a headset and every call is clear as a bell.Wow. I love my new telephone! It is very light and the battery lasts my whole shift.

Amplified Big Button Cordless Phone

Purchased this phone for my Dad who is legally blind and very hard of hearing. Finally, we are able to hear and understand each other. Previously when we spoke, I could tell that he wasn't hearing what I was saying and the conversation was not very satisfying for either of us. Now, we talk more often and he can hear what I am saying thanks to the amplification. He has Parkinson's Disease and the cordless nature of the phone allows him to have it near him so that he no longer has to traverse across the living room to answer it. Great price and it works very well! I highly recommend it.
